Summer 2014

Wow - Summer 2014 has been flying by! ChessBoxer started their summer touring schedule with a trip to England in June for the first annual Red Rooster Festival in Suffolk. Hosted on the grounds of beautiful Euston Hall, ChessBoxer was the only band from America as well as being the only instrumental band at the fest! The boys ventured back to London for promo tapings and hangs then returned to the States to prepare for tour with Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers.

For almost three weeks in June and July, ChessBoxer opened for legendary pianist and singer, Bruce Hornsby on a tour of the Southeast. Not only did they perform a set of original material each night, they were honored to play with Bruce's band. It was a fantastic tour and ChessBoxer will definitely be involved in future Noisemaking!

In mid-July, Matt and Ross joined fellow musician, longtime friend, and honorary ChessBoxer, Kai Welch, for an incredible trip down the Salmon River in Idaho. A concept started by Kai, this was the inaugural "Music For Wild Places" trip where the band and guests would float down the river during the day, set up camp in the evening, then play a concert under the stars and below the mountains each night. A truly memorable experience, you must join one of these adventures  in the future, it will change your life.

The rest of the summer and fall will find ChessBoxer writing and recording their next full-length album, performing dates around the US and the world, and collaborating with a host of amazing musicians and projects. Check back regularly to find out what's happening with Matt and Ross!!
